Museum quality matched Pair...one geode cut in two. This perfect specimen (Brazil) has beautiful large, dark crystals with no repairs. Simply put these geodes form from Volcanic Activity. The combination of temperature, pressure and moisture causes the growth of the crystals over a long period of time. The clear quartz crystals are Silicon Dioxide...when Ferric Iron is present they are purple and are called Amethyst. The Agate near the edges of the geode is also Silicon Dioxide...in the case of the Agate they are cryptocrystalline quartz crystals, so small that they are not perceivable to the naked eye. Often the exterior of geodes are green which is a copper oxide. This exquisite pair measures.....and is available for $ for the pair. Sorry they are not sold separately...it's just too hard to find matched pairs of this quality. |
